4.3.1 website and admin pages blank/no access

  • Yesterday I came in and our website was loading slowly — the images would not load at all. When I attempted to log in as admin, the page would not load and remained blank. Then the same thing was happening with the site. Just now I tried to load the website and got just a text page.

    Go Daddy, our hosting service, says there are no issues with the hosting service but it looks like the theme has broken — ? I am new to WordPress and have read a few forums that suggest I need to use the hosting service’s FTP site to change the theme? I have not done this and am appreciative of any guidance. Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Hi esmi, thanks for your quick answer. … I have not tried these things. I haven’t been a website admin before. I went to Go Daddy — do I need to go directly into the database to do what you are saying? This is all sort of Greek to me. thanks.

    No. You do not need to touch the database. All of the above can be carried out using an FTP client (eg FileZilla) or whatever file management tool your hosts provides.

    I have an issue in my web hosting. I upload my school website on https://www.thefalconschool.com
    its wp-admin in not working. its show blank white page and have no source file view. kindly help me.

    when i am https://…./wp-login.php its shows me:

    what it mean. and how to login to my dashboard. i am trying in the correct way means (https://…/wp-admin) bt it show me white blank screen.
