• I’ve been trying to install the latest version of WordPress (4.2.4) with no luck. I clicked the link to Update and it didn’t do anything and after that I wasn’t able to access anything on my dashboard, nothing would load. So I’ve tried the step by step manual way suggested with FTP and still no luck.
My website is still up and accessible but the back end (admin) isn’t working. Anyone got any clues on how to fix this?

    Sarah

  • Change version in wp-includes\version.php, the creators have forgotten.

I’m sorry but what am I changing in wp-includes\version.php ?

There will be problem in wp-admin folder .if you have back up of your whole wp file from filebase than replace the wp-admin folder from back file

I have tried using my backups with no luck. I still cannot access anything on the admin side of my website. I can’t access any updates, plugins or anything, I can click on it, but it won’t take me to that page. All I can see is everything over on the left as per normal, and then the rest is white and telling me to update to version 4.2.4
