Hi. I read all the threads about this issue and took several actions but still can not figure out how to fix the menu error.

I have main menu with i guess about 300+ items. I had errors before couple times about menu limitation but could fix it by adjusting the max_input_vars in php.ini

my current php.ini looks like this

memory_limit = 512M
max_execution_time = 0
max_input_time = 60
post_max_size = 65M
max_input_vars = 50000
file_uploads = 1
max_file_uploads = 50
upload_max_filesize = 300M

But just recently I paid attention that some of items in the main menu are missing, tried to edit/delete files from menu but got this error when i click “save”:

413 Request Entity Too Large

does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

These what i tried to do:
1) flush the cashe
2) use different browser
3) deactivate all plugins
4) scan with wordfence (no issues)
5) duplicated main menu and tried to edit – same error
6) adjust max_input_vars in php.ini – same error
7) downloaded max mega menu plugin
8) my .htaccess file does not have max_vars in it, tried to add
php_value max_input_vars 5000 – gave me fatal failure of the web needed to restore throw godaddy hosting

10) used child theme of storefront
11) downloaded CYSTEME Finder plugin and tried to edit nav-menus.php – does not let me edit the file

12) Finally I just restored the system to 1 month back throw godaddy which helped me to get back lost files from main menu but still cant edit it.

Going crazy with this bug. Other small menus are editing and saving fine. Just don’t want to re-create the whole menu from scratch. Any idea how to fix it?

also saw suggestions to change max_vars in suhosin but could not find it in Cysteme Finder

wow! so weird! i spent so much time but just realized when i go to customize – menu I can actually edit main menu without an error :/
