Trackbacks not working when posting from ecto

  • Hi,

    I’ve got WordPress and ecto and I can’t seem to get trackbacks working.

    If I put a trackback URL into the Manage Trackbacks dialog box and publish the post, the trackback is not created.

    However, if I write the blog entry directly in WordPress and put a trackback URI in, the trackback is created.

    I am using WordPress 1.5.1.3. I’ve searched the WordPress support site, and i’ve seen a few posts about problems with trackbacks, but they all refer to fixes that have been put into 1.5.1.3.

    I’ve also double checked that Ecto is configured to use the MovableType API for my WordPress blog.

    Any ideas?

    ecto is sending the URL:

  • I have the sampe problem. Nobody having ideas what to do or to check? Or, melevittfl, have you found a workaround or a solution in the meantime?

    Looks like WP’s XMLRPC implementation is ignoring the trackbacks. I hope someone can take a look.

    Does anyone have some updated information on this problem? I use Ecto and it would be nice if WP did trackbacks with it. Right now, I have to do them by hand.

    I’m fairly sure that there are a few hundred WP/Ecto users out there. Doesn’t this bother anyone else?

    Has a fix been posted?

    I did.

    They referred me to WP. They say that it’s a WP problem, not an Ecto problem. So, anyone working on it at WP? Just curious. I’d love for it to work. ??

    In that case, if you are not using WordPress v1.5.2, please upgrade now. If you are using WordPress v1.5.2, and you cannot post Trackbacks with Ecto, please submit a bug report, and reference this thread in the report.

    Yep, I’ve been using 1.5.2 since it came out. And thanks for the link for bugs. I’ll go check it out. Maybe somebody else mentioned it. I usually check this forum first because it always looks like major issues come up here first.
