• I had to manually remove 4.0.5 via FTP due to inability to access dashboard/hidden backend.

I reinstalled 4.0.8… Now unable to access dashboard again. It’s like a bad dream.

Why no posts about how to fix iThemes?

  • Removing files via FTP does not change database entries, which are left even when plugin is deactivated. You need to reset (delete) plugin’s database entries. I outlined this process here:

I appreciate your post I did see that earlier.

Are you from iThemes? My concern is doing something to fix the site that is not recommended directly by iThemes (and they have been painfully quiet on this upgrade disaster to 4.X) may result in more issues. I would like to avoid “we never told you to do that”.

This is great that you are helping. I would have thought iThemes Security would have gotten the best programmers involved with this over the weekend because this fiasco has cost them multi dollars.

Sorry, did not see this. If it still matters, no I’m not from iThemes. You have to understand that this is www.remarpro.com community forum. If you want iThemes to respond, you more likely to get it on their forum or pay for premium support.

I’m helping because I know how frustrating this issue is, and average users wouldn’t know what to do to fix it… and iThemes did not provide adequate free support.
