What “Coverage” are you referring to?

When you load a web page and right click on it then select “Inspect”.
In this new window, then go to the top right and you will see the three dots menu. Select “Show Console Drawer” . A new sub-panel will appear at the bottom of the screen. You may have to lift the top border to expand it.

When you do the reload, it shows various details.

This is where we found the 404 alerts.

I don’t see any 404s. Do you see them in an incognito window?

I will send you a screen shot when I have worked out how I got these 404s to appear in the window. But then I’m not an expert. Nonetheless, I assure you they were flagged up there.

I am concerned that this problem has not been resolved.

Your plugin installed a service worker that works in the background but continues to exist after the plugin is deleted. We deleted the plugin but our system log shows lots of 404 errors for https://www.trapbarn.com/wp.serviceworker.

Where are the serviceworker files placed and how can we get rid of this issue.

Here is the 404 record from our redirect pluguin

The service worker is served dynamically by WordPress. There is no file that is installed in the filesystem. Apparently you have a browser client that is still looking to see if the file exists. However, it is no longer there. After deactivation of the PWA plugin, browsers should purge the service worker after 24 hours. I’ve never seen it retained before.

Well, there’s been two hits in the last two hours. One was from a device identified as “Chrome OS Chrome” and the other as ” Google Other”
If browsers purge their cache every 24 hours, why are we still getting these hits?

I do not know. I’ve never seen this before. I’m making some inquiries.

I have a lead but I likely won’t be able to follow up before the end of this month (June).

Are you still seeing the 404s?
