• Hi,

I am having the following issues on this site, It is a little convoluted and long, but I would really appreciate help.

With the Yoast SEO and Local plugin running, I scan the website with Screaming Frog and come up with several 404’s. Almost all of the 404’s are incorrect urls of category pages, and they are 404’s because it is missing the word category, i.e.
    https://salitautosales.com/convertible (404)
    https://salitautosales.com/category/convertible (correct)

I cannot see any links to these pages on any pages that I looked at in the browser, they are only in the code. When I looked into the code it said something about a canonical url under a Yoast setting.

I deactivated the Yoast SEO plugin as well as Yoast Local, the 404’s did not show up but then during the scan the website was stuck in a loop, where it kept adding to the url

    /category/under-10000 over and over again.

That error does not happen when I reactivate the Yoast plugin, but then I get the 404’s from the incorrectly labeled categories. And now I can’t find that “canonical” message that I saw initially.

Also to note, this site was hosted on Bluehost, was infected with malware due to another site not being updated. It has since been transferred over to Flywheel where they scanned and removed the malware, hopefully all of it.

Another note, when I try to put into the menu a “category”, it does not work either. So I just put a direct link in instead, i.e. “Inventory” in the menu is a link rather than the “all-cars” category.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jeremy
