I see in the changelog for v0.8.9.5 “to check the page is 404 or not with http_response_code() if is_404() does not work“.

Want to be sure I’m understanding this correctly, please: Does this mean WPFC will NO LONGER cache 404’s and serve them up from cache with 200 OK header after the first hit on the 404?

This has been a severe, and costly, technical issue present in all current cache plugins since their inception.

If you have in fact solved this issue, thenk you so much on behalf of everyone using your plugin! You ROCK! ??

Actually 404 pages have never been cached. I just changed the function.
You wonder why it is needed. If someone attacks to your sites, lots of caches are created for 404 pages and it causes to increase the disk usage.
