404 Preview Draft After update to version 1.2

I noticed that in draft mode the permalink save is already the permalink of a published one.

Your notice is really good. This is a new feature which has been added in the version 1.2. So, Now on-wards, Permalink can be created on Draft as well and when you change anything which can affect/impact the permalink structure so, it would be updated automatically till the post/page is draft.

Once, it is published or you have changed the permalink manually in draft mode. then the permalink make it fixed for the post so, won’t change with changing/updating the post/page. But, you can still change the permalink by yourself(manually)

This functionality has been tested and working fine. Please check again. If it doesn’t work so, please let me know some use-case to generate/re-produce the issue on my end. so, i can check and make it fixed.

Good day! Unfortunately the feature looks unstable, when the admin save it as draft then preview it, it goes to a 404 page. they must publish it in order to see their newly created post.

We have an installed 1.1 in our staging website, that one works as expected. when drafted it doesn’t go to a 404 page the admin can preview the post as normal.

Sorry, but i am not able to produce this issue on my end. Everything looks fine to me. Please confirm the following points:

1. On which post type it is happening? Either it’s Page, Post or Custom Post Type.
2. Have you tried this new functionality on creating new Posts or Updating the Old Posts?
3. Are you using any multi-language plugin?
4. Are you facing this issue on all the Post type or on some specific?

Thank you for your prompt support, I am currently experiencing it on custom post types (1) It is happening on New posts, looks like the parameter ?preview=true is being removed when i manually add it and hit enter it is being removed again, FYI I modified the custom posts types parameter in the plugin (maybe it will help on debugging?)

I test it one time on post it looks fine.

@tdluiamisola Thanks for your feedback. I have tried this on Custom Post Type as well and doesn’t found any issue.

Can you provide the parameter which you have modified for your custom post types? How you have created custom post types? using Plugin or by adding file for it.

@tdluiamisola Thanks for providing your settings. We have just published the new version of the plugin. Please check and let me know does it solves the issue for you or not.

Please check the the latest version(1.2.2) for the resolution of this issue. I hope, the issue would be resolved for you.

Hi, I think there’s still issue with the latest version 1.0.2, It keeps reporting 404 not found for newly published post with custom permalinks, I’ve noticed it on 2 of my sites using the plugin.

The post will appear on the homepage with the thumbnail but when you click on it, it gives you “404 not found”

Have you tried the latest version of the Plugin which is the 1.2.2 not the 1.0.2. If you doesn’t tried the latest version so, my first recommendation for you to please try the latest version 1.2.2.
