    Hi,

Thanks for this great plugin that works like a charm for the footer!

However, I cannot make it work for my 404 page. I’ve set up a custom one in EN and RU, and connected both of them together with Polylang.

But whenever I am typing an “unknown” URL while I’m on the RU version of my site, I always see the EN version of it…

Do you have any idea where it comes from?

    Best,

    Hi @hugohb

I am glad that is working for the most part. I need a URL to double check the issues.

Oh, sure! The website is lobsession.ru

Many parts of the website are not translated yet, and the ones published are mostly for the sake of testing on multiple devices. But homepage in both languages is public, as well as the 404 page.

Anyway, when you switch from EN to RU, you can make sure you are indeed in Russian language by checking the menu in header (with mention “RU” everywhere”) and/or the footer, which is fully translated.

    Thanks for the help!

Sorry for the delay (I have been without a connection), yes, I see it is a problem. I just want to test on my site and I will get back to you.

    Hello @hugohb

Okay, so I have found some time. I actually had not set up my 404’s, so this pushed me to do it! (Thanks for that! ?? )

    Questions:

Have you set a display condition on the original template?

When you created the default 404 template, did you click the + sign to create the new language 404 template?

    Hi,

Glad I could be of any help with your own projects! ??

The only condition I have set for both languages is “Include: 404 page”.

I cannot remember how I created the 404 page of the second language. But I’ve double checked and both pages are linked and point to each other in the “Languages” section, in Edit mode.

Would it be possible to grant me temporary admin access? You can use the plugin called Temporary Login Without Password

my email is madbradjohnson (at) gmail (dot) com

Then I can login and check exactly what is going on.

    Hello @hugohb

Thanks, I have sent you correspondence as well as a video link of the changes that were made.

It was literally a single change made to the URL parameters in PolyLang. The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks. This is a condition to the plugin and our documentation will be updated accordingly.
