    Hello,
    great product!
This issue is very similar to the recently resolved issue of same name – 1 day ago – but latest 2.1 version does not fix for us. Recap..
    Direct url works – https://www.whygo.net/our-404.
Error urls do not – https://www.whygo.net/our-404-broken.

As you can see on the error pages, the 404 pages top slider seems to appear but the rest of the pages pulls what looks like our blog summary content.

Unlike the prev issue, it would seem that all error pages, irrespective of coming from a page or a blog post, with the blog base https://www.whygo.net/the-grapevine, will always throw the broken page styling. Only the 404-url direct will display styling correctly.

We tried disabling all plug-ins & tried from parent AVADA theme – no good.
When we tried changing to Twenty-Thirteen theme, both 404 & error pages displayed correct content, so certainly looks like a theme issue.

    Any suggestions to fix?

    cheers
    James

    Hi Peter,

sure have, this then defaults to an avada looking default 404 page.

Any ideas how to fix this?

    cheers
    James

It seems that the Avada Theme uses it’s completely own 404 error handling. I’d love to help but since it is a premium theme I don’t have access to the theme files to analyze the code. Are you able and willing to set up a test site for me where I can have full access including FTP to fiddle around?

    Hi Peter,

Will take a bit of resource to get staging set up so u can just access AVADA site. Will log issue with AVADA support and see what they have to say. Bit strange the highest rated 404 plugin doesnt play nice with the biggest selling WP theme – so they should have a solution, I hope, positive thinking.

If they do not, i’ll revert with staging details.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    cheers

same Problem here – maybe i found the “Problem”: When a link like this one: https://www.alpenherz.de/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/cocoon-innenseite.jpg bounces in 404 then the 404-Site will get the content of the blog below the site-content

    Hi Peter,

AVADA support just fobbed this off as your issue. ha.

What contact can I use to send access & FTP details?

    cheers
    James

    Hi James,

    please use https://smartware.cc/contact/. Thanks.

And please be patient, it will take a while. I’ll go on vacation in a few days.

    Hi Peter,

I wanted to add that I have the same problem on my site. Theme is Genesis/Altitude Pro. I’ve tried both with a “standard” page and with the Thrive Content Builder. Current behaviour is that the 404 renders fine from some pages but not from others.

Example: https://annaselundberg.com/asda/ –> as you can see it brings up a post summary rather than a page. In this format, links, buttons, and any formatting doesn’t work.

I’m afraid I don’t have the technical know-how to set up a test site as you suggest but perhaps your assessment of James’ theme will help you to identify a general solution.

Thanks in advance for your support,

    Anna

    Hello Peter,

please reply when you are back from holiday and I will provide test access.

Starting to seem like this is not isolated to AVADA from Annas post.

    Cheers

Sorry all, I totally lost sight of this issue. My bad!

Are you still having this problems?

Don’t know about people above but I use latest Avada 5.0 and your plugin works excellent without compatibilty mode.

    @tomlecki: Thanks for your input!

@petersplugins thanks for following up! From what I can see, it’s not working at all now?! Any wrong page is just bringing up the default page…
Please take a look and see what you think!

PS Well I just reviewed the settings and returned them to “standard mode” and not it seems to work…

    Hi Peter,
co-incidence strikes, with the upgrade to AVADA 5.0, I lost my custom 404. ??
(and just pushing the old html in there won’t cut it – not to mention that last page didn’t have the code that tells the world its a 404)

So trying to get this plug-in to work again, and unlike Anna above, I have tried using both Compatibility & Standard Mode and i am getting the same issues as before.

That being, AVADA is trying to over-ride your plug-ins code in some way with the settings for a blog post. When your plugin is de-activated, the page displays 100%, simple Chewy header, content. When your plug-in is activated, and of course the 404 page is selected, this is what we
https://www.whygo.net/GGG . Two header images, one for the 404 page, one that is used on the Blogs. And content wise, seems to all be a single page version of the latest blog posts.

I am on latest vs of WP & AVADA & YourPLugin.

Any help u can provide would be awesome.

    Cheers
    James
