• I’ve been having problems lately posting to my blog. As soon as I save the post and view it, I’m getting a 404 Page error. I thought this was because I was trying to add pictures in the post, but the most recent one only had links and it still is not working.

For an example, go to https://www.reawakener.com/blog

Mouse over the first link on the last post and look at the link description at the bottom of the screen — it looks fine — I finally got it to work.

Then, go to the next post, which has the same title and content. If you mouse over the link, it has funny % signs in it, and gives the error 404. Why is this link adding those % signs? It’s happened the last few times I’ve posted, and now it’s taking me an hour to post a 5 minute piece, so I would appreciate any thoughts you have.

  • Evelyn,

I’m seeing the problem. Did you fix it? All the links seem to work.

No, if you click on the second version of “Why Dreaming Big Just Doesn’t Cut it Anymore” you will get the 404 error.

Would you please try it again — I’m interested to see if it really does work for you. . .

The nreason it doesn’t work is because of “doesn’t”, it has the apostrophe in it! The %e2%80%99 is the encoded character. It usually strips odd things like that from the post slug.

    Good luck,
    Michael.

I thought that too at first, but then the second one posted fine (I actually tested the ‘ theory, but when I re-worded it, it still did the same thing). The one out there now is about my 7th attempt, and it finally kept the link.

    Hummm

I remember reading there had been some issues with having quotes in the title, perhaps this is related to that. I’m using 2.0.1 and I have a few titles with apostrophe’s in them and they’ve rendered just fine as post slugs. Maybe try upgradings to the latest version.

    Cheers,
    Michael.
