I’m having issues with my www.remarpro.com site. The site URL is: https://www.cuentosdeunaviajera.com and I am using 1&1 hosting.

Starting recently, I have been unable to load the various pages (Support, Updates, etc) I have created within the site. When I click on the link, a site appears that says:

    Error 404: NOT FOUND!
Your browser cannot find the document corresponding to the URL you typed in.

I thought this might have been an issue with that particular page, but when I create a new one, an Error 404 page loads as well. There are no issues with the back-end editing part of the site, and I have down-graded to WP 2.8.6 because I have had issues with the newest version 2.9.x

After reading previous entries and other sites that have suggested the problem might be within the .htaccess file, I have deleted it and/or edited the file, which does not help. I currently do not have a .htaccess file.

I am also having the same issue with individual posts. If a user clicks on the post title to leave a comment, or read the entire post, they are directed to a ERROR 404 Page Not Found.

I am also running another www.remarpro.com site (365.katherinebruder.com) at 2.9.x and have not had any of these issues.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

    Kate

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

    Thanks.

I had the same problem with my blog after loaded a new wordpress and the mysql database. I was getting Error 404 and glad I found this solution.

Thanks for this. I was having an issue when I upgraded to 3.02 with 115 sites on it. The main site url was not finding my post links when I did “Network update” I simply changed the paramlinks to defualt hit save then went back to old settings and it worked like a charm.

    Thanks again.
