Can “The SEO Framework”-Plugin handle the title and description of the 404-Page? To display the 404-Page I Use the 404.php template file in my theme.

    Hello!

Search engines don’t display 404 pages in their indexes; so, descriptions won’t be useful there.

And, when you have a popular page shared on social media that you need to remove, it’s often best to redirect that page to a similar/related page that works. Even if it’s not redirected, I’m not sure how a description would help — a blank link also works.

Is there any reason you’d want descriptions on 404 pages?

    You are right!

I was just wondering because the browser’s title bar is still displaying the text in the title tag.

    Hi again!

Sorry, I missed that you also wanted to know about titles.

Yes, TSF outputs that title as “Page not found,” to which it adds your chosen separator and blog name. Unlike descriptions, this is indeed useful for visitors.
