    Hello Wordfence,

When I try to use Hotjar Connecticator or Head, Footer and Post Injections to insert a script in the header, I will get a 404 page when pressing the ‘save’ button. This does not happen when Wordfence is disabled. I’m guessing Wordfence protects certain files to be edited?

    Best,
    Caspar

  • Hi @casparsmits,

What I’m understanding here is that you’re trying to add the Hotjar Tracking Code as described in Hotjar’s documentation; is that correct?

I was able to succefully implement this change to a WordPress test site (4.7.5), running Wordfence 6.3.10 (I also tried with Wordfence 6.3.9) with all Wordfence community firewall rules enabled (configuration by default).

Are you using a default theme? If not, could you try and temporarily switch to a default theme and try again to add the Hotjar script?

Using your current theme, could you enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG to see if any specific error is generated?
