I’m testing my new auction and when using a non admin user I get a “Page not found” error on my bid submission. My site is https://www.heartclasses.com/artwork-auction/ .

Also, if I am logged out and try to bid nothing happens. I am concerned that users will not understand that you need to login to bid (even though I’ve tried to make this clear)

Thanks for your great plugin. We’ve used it for 3 years for our annual artwork auction and it has served us well. If you could get back to me today that would be great as the auction is scheduled to go up Saturday.

I have tried deactivating all plugins and switching themes to see if it was a js error, but nothing worked. Thanks.

Okay, nevermind, it was a js conflict with my responsive menu. Now to fix!

Having the same issue. Version 3.7.7. Users get 404 error when trying to bid but not logged in. I’m using a dedicated login page, using Profile Builder Ver 2.6.3 and limited login attempts Ver 1.7.1 When I remove the login page and leave that field blank, the error goes away and users are redirected to the WordPress login. However, I am not getting the info I need for user names for the auction. The website is a non profit https://reel-heroes.com

Any help is appreciated, the auction is live now.

    Thank you, Paul

    Hi Folks,

    Sorry for delayed reply.

@majancart, It seems you found out conflict. Could you share which plugin was conflicting, I would reproduce and fix it?

@pltemp, Read your post. Have following question:

    1. Could you please share which plugin should I install to reproduce it?
    2. You said that you were not logged in and tried to place bid and got 404 error. Is this statement correct?
    3. Could you also share steps to reproduce it?

    Regards,
    Nitesh

    Good Morning Nitesh,
I would be happy to work with you on this but as it turns out we have bigger fish to fry.

I looked to see if anyone had reported a similar issue but didn’t see anything.

The problem: We had our Auction this past weekend. We had about 24 items on the online portion of the Auction which was for charity. All were set to expire at the same time. 2017 – 6- 3 at 20:00 This was to coincide with the physical auction (which included the same items as well as additional items) being held at the banquet in Saturday night. All the online auctions ended prematurely at the same time, approximately 2 hours (1800) before the scheduled ending. I can’t see the exact time this happened. When I looked at the manage auction page all the items were gone and showing up under expired auctions. I rechecked all the settings and they looked correct to me. It was as if someone had manually ended all the items at the same time. I have no logs to look at, and have no idea how this happened. I was thinking about upgrading to the pro version but I am re-thinking that at this point. This was a huge issue for us and an embarrassment to me and our organization. As a result we lost a large amount of revenue.

I have not touched the auction since this happened, except to try to reinstate a couple items, which when I tried, had not retained the previous bids, so I left the rest alone. I can give you access to the site if you want to poke around. It almost seemed as though we were hacked. I have since stopped user registrations to our site and removed the auction from the main menu.

If you prefer I can open a separate ticket on this issue. Any help you can give would be appreciated. I have a lot of explaining to do.

    Thank you,
    Paul

It was an issue with my jquery. Apparently, both your plugin and my responsive menu use the $ symbol as a shortcut for the actual jquery function. So, all I ended up having to do was change the $ symbol to jquery in each function that used the symbol in my menu and presto! it was fine.

Thanks for checking back in, although it is pretty late in the game if I hadn’t found it myself.

    Hi Paul,

You should have correct timezone set. FREE plugin has different way to change auction state as compared to PRO version. FREE plugin basically triggers auction state check at the time of site visit. PRO plugin/theme has a WP Scheduler implementation to do the same thing which is more real time and keeps performance optimized.

You also mentioned that reactivation did not reinstated bids because reactivation adds a new auction and is not meant to renew old auction.

    Hi Mike,

Glad you solved it. I’ll try to be more prompt in future.

    HI Nitesh,
I rechecked my settings and it all looks good to me. I’m in Mass, USa Time zone set to America New York. All Auctions set to end at 20:00. I have no problem buying the pro version if that fixes the issue. But I’d really like to have an answer for the people who lost money on this auction because it ended prematurely. I have screen shots if you would like me to email them to you.

Thanks for the help on this,
    Paul
