I just moved to a new hosting and url imported my podcasts episode from my old url and hosting. I revised my imported episodes and location of each mp3 files are correct but when I check the rss feed and try to play or download the episode the website is trying to find it in the wrong location giving me an error “404 Not Found” (a folder called “/podcast-download/” and then a number of four digits), instead of the actual location which is different from where is Episode file: is indicated in the episode when I edited. Why is the rss is looking for the file in the wrong place? and How can I fix this issue?

I’m using WPengine as hosting.

Hi @siguientepagina,

I’m sorry to hear you encountered this issue. The /podcast-download/ files URL is correct, and it should be automatically redirected to the real file URL. Unfortunately, on some hostings it doesn’t work out of the box. I would recommend you trying the steps from this article – https://support.castos.com/article/298-bypass-rules-for-nginx-hosted-websites.
If it doesn’t help, you can also try other variants from this article – https://support.castos.com/article/160-podcast-episodes-will-not-play#NGINX-Server-1hJLv

Hi there, I’m experiencing the same issue. The website was functioning perfectly without any changes, but I’m now encountering a 404 error. The URL is: https://williamwessex.com/MyPodcasts/

Hi @siguientepagina,

Just wanted to check in and see if you were able to get this resolved. WP Engine does use NGINX so adding the bypass rules should have helped but let me know.
