• I’ve been getting a few 404 error lockouts. Recently I went into myphpadmin and found the nonexisting urls and removed them from the site. But it looks like I’ve also been getting hundreds of 404 errors on urls that exist except for the strange /%3C at the end. Almost every url visited on the site created a 404 error with that at the end and I have no idea why. How do I find out what is causing this?

  • Not sure why you are posting that question on this forum …

The iTSec plugin has a 404 Detection feature which amongst other things helps you monitor 404 pages for your website. But that doesn’t mean they are caused by the iTSec plugin …

Is there any clue\indication these 404s are caused by the iTSec plugin ?

For instance, if you deactivate the iTSec plugin do the 404s stop or continue ? (Since the iTSec plugin stops logging 404s once deactivated you’ll probably need to monitor the Apache access.log to see any new 404s).

Looks more like a general WP issue to me. Please consider posting this issue to a generic WP forum to increase chances of actually receiving feedback that possibly helps you resolve the issue.
