404 instead of a home page

What happens when you activate default theme? Just want to make sure if this is a conflict with theme or not.

Here is a quick update. When I activate the default theme, the error doesn’t occur. I had one of your colleagues look at the site in February and since then everything was all right until now.

just pinging you, so you know the issue hasn’t disappeared. I have a feeling the issue is either in minification or in plug-in’s integration with CloudFlare. The only thing that helps is to purge cache as well as CloudFlare every week. You might understand that it’s not a very sustainable practice.

Would you please go to Dashboard > Performance > Page Cache > Uncheck “Cache front page” and “Cache 404 (not found) pages”? Then reset cache and check again?

Hi Ash,

I did just that, but to no avail. I tried resetting cache multiple times, but the problem keeps coming back. After some time (3-4 days), the site starts pointing to the 404 page instead of any other page on the site.

Hi there

Can you switch your page cache from “Disk Enhanced” to “Disk”? Assuming it is currently at “disk enhanced”. If its not that then what is it currently set to?

All right, did just that. You were right – page caching was set to enhanced mode.

I’ve cleaned all caches, so let’s leave it for, give or take, a week and see whether the problem gets resolved.
