• I’ve recently starting experiencing a very frustrating error. Occasionally when I try to save a post as a draft, I will receive a 404 Page Not found error. After I get this error, my site appears to make itself unavailable for a few minutes both on the front end and back end. It doesn’t happen every time I save and I can’t seem to replicate specific actions that trigger it. I have experienced the error from different PCs, on different networks, using different browsers. So far I have tried:

    1. Updating to the latest version of WP
    2. Disabling all plug ins
    3. Using a default WP theme in place of my premium theme
    4. Disabling Mod_Security by inserting a script into the .htaccess file on the site root

Any other ideas? Go Daddy claims that it’s not an issue on their end. I’ve been running the site for 6+ months and never received the error until two weeks ago.

  • I think that this is a server/hosting issue – no matter what GD say. Have you asked them to move you to another, less-crowded, server?

I haven’t asked but I will. I assumed it was a server side issue as well, but wanted another opinion before I pushed back on Go Daddy.

We’re seeing quite a few hosting issues atm. Go Daddy seems to be one of those hosts affected. Not sure of the reason but we do know that it is not directly related to WordPress 3.6
