Suddenly getting 404 errors on all slot pages. The slug was /free-slots/ and we changed it to just show from / .. It was working fine for months with no changes, now suddenly it is showing 404. Once we disable the plugin, everything shows fine but it displays with the /free-slots/ slug.

Try to use alternate mode. It can be also conflict with some SEO or other plugin. This plugin didn’t update its mechanism for a long time, so only possible explanation is that something else changed in your installation.

I tried the alternate option but it still says 404. I disabled all of the plugins and it still comes back 404. The only SEO plugin that I’m using is Yoast and I deactivated it and reactivated it, but nothing changed at all.

If I visit the slots page using the /free-slots/ slug while I have the plugin enabled, I get this browser error:

    This page isn’t working

playslots.net redirected you too many times.

    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

Clearing the cookies or history doesn’t help at all. Purged all of the caches, etc.. so I really don’t know what could be causing this.

version 6.1 of this plugin was released 12 months ago and from that version there are no changes in this plugin, so if you didn’t update from some very old version to the newest 6.4, then this simply can not be caused by this plugin, but something else must changed in your WP…

there are many other plugins affecting URL structure and also WP has it’s own permalink rules, then it can be something in NginX config or Apache .htaccess, wrong migration, some SSL tricky solutions… translation plugins, SEO plugins, many other things… sometimes their changes persist no matter if these plugins are active or not… it’s really hard to say

i could help you only if i would be able to play with it, so if you’re able to replicate this issue on some sandbox, where I can access it and try to debug the problem, or if you can give me step-by-step guid how to replicate this issue… you can also contact me by the chat on the offical website wp-speedup.eu
