• I screwed up!

I deleted the parent (Twenty Seventeen) of the active child theme (minimal 20/17) I was using by mistake. This resulted in 404 errors.

I tried to reinstall the parent theme, but that did not resolve the 404 errors.

Where else should I look to fix this?

  • Have you fixed this already?

If not, where are you seeing the 404 error(s)?

I’m asking because all links on your site work from my end: no 404 errors.

I haven’t solved it. going to the home page still redirects to a 404.

@gappiah When I use https, I see what you’re seeing. It’s actually the content of an entirely different wordpress instance for lalato.com. (my very old blog that hasn’t been updated in 8 years)

derbylisting.com is technically a subdomain of lalato.com. So it’s more like derbylisting.lalato.com in the backend. Strange that it’s now redirecting this way for you.

But at least that’s a clue I can try and track down.

No luck on this. If anyone has a suggestion, I would love to hear it.

I got it sorted, but I’m still not sure what the root cause was.

I had to go back in and re-add the domain and setup it from scratch. Only then could I get everything back up and running.

I’ll certainly be more careful when I’m doing maintenance.
