404 errors after 3.31 upgrade

    I hope there is a simple fix for this. I updated to 3.31 today and now none of my menu links or page links work. The main page loads – without header graphic, but otherwise intact. Click on any menu item or story link and I get:

    Not Found

    The requested URL /beer-videos-4/ was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    It’s the same for each link.
    Any suggestions?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Tried all of these things. Twice. No relief. Any other suggestions?

    OK. The .htaccess file was missing. My host helped me. Now, where do I drop the plugins folder I removed? Geez, I’m lost at this stuff.
