• In my live site the plugin suddenly is not working, showing an 404 error in the search box…

The browser console shows this message:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (/wp-content/plugins/ajax-search-lite/ajax_search.php:1)

Of course, the plugin is installed and active. I have the same options that in a test site, this one (https://ayudawp.com/pruebas/) where the plugin works fine.

    Hi,

It is probably a misconfiguration within the .htaccess file, or the server mod rewrite engine.

At first, I would suggest turning off the custom ajax handler: https://i.imgur.com/IoyD6Cm.png
If that does not do anything, then you will have to check the .htaccess file to verify the rules there.

    Best,

I’ve disabled the Custom Ajax Handler and now everything work fine ??

    Thank you!
