I just updated WP to the latest release, 4.8.2, and now I get a 404 error when trying to access plugins.php, plugin-editor.php and about.php from the admin dashboard. I haven’t encountered any other 404 errors in the back-end. Oddly enough, plugin-install.php is working fine, as are widgets, themes, pages, dashboard, settings and so on.

Any idea what might have caused this or what I could try to fix this? Haven’t come across anybody else with this exact issue. I tried re-installing the latest update but same issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Zach

  • Hi, Zach, & welcome. Perhaps ftp-ing the wp-admin folder up to your server might resolve this?

Is that something you know how to do?

Fantastic @abletec! That worked like a charm. Something must have gotten corrupted during the update.

    Much appreciated!

That’s what it sounded like to me, Zach & why I suggested what I did. Sometimes that gets a bit dicey, because there are a sizeable number of site owners who don’t know how to FTP. If you could please mark this question as ‘resolved’ so the volunteers will know you’ve been helped, that’d be very much appreciated. Thanks for letting us know that worked for your situation.
