First of all, thanks for keeping this plugin running, your work is greatly appreciated here!

I’ve been using this plugin for awhile now and it’s mostly been working good, until I upgraded to WP 4.0, since then, the mqtranslate plugin has not been working correctly. When previewing, saving or publishing a post as well as adding a page, I get the error “Page not found error 404”.

I’ve gone through every plugin that I have installed and the only one causing this problem is mqtranslate, of that I’m sure.

I’ve tried to change the permalink options; tried adding a suggested different .htaccess code because I thought the fault was there. But nothing has worked so far.

I’m using WP 4.0 with the latest version of mqtranslate. My server provider is Namecheap. I’m not very proficient at html, just a beginner.

Any help on your side would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • I tried with qTranslate-X and it fails too.

The only working one is Polylang but the current content cannot be easily transfered to this system.

I have been talking to my ISP provider and they say that:

It looks like your application has triggered the mod_security plugin on the server which was causing it to throw 403 errors. We have disabled it for your account, and there should be no further issues.

Now it is working well again, Finally!!! But my question is who has triggered the mod_security plugin?

    Hi!
I spoke with my ISP provider, they took this topic into consideration and they disabled the mod_security.
However I’m still experiencing the exactly same thing!

Any help would be highly appreciated!

I spoke to my ISP also they have disabled the mod_security but no luck, can anyone help me with this issue please. Is there any solution ?

I am experiencing this issue as described in previous comments. Upgraded website to 4.1.1 and upgraded the version of mqtranslate. Could no longer edit/update posts. Changed to qtranslatex and still the same problem. Editing a post always go to a 403 error and eventually caused my ip to be blocked by mod_security though my isp’s firewall. Very annoying. I am currently returning to the original version of mqtranslate and wordpress 3.9.3 in the hope the issue will be solved.

On the server side, is anyone else on a lightspeed server as mine is and I wonder if this could be part of the problem as I know it presents problems for other plugins sometimes.

Thanks everyone for the detail and information in this thread.

    My problem is solved!

I contacted my ISP server and they did what they can to help me.
Now I switch to qtranslatex and everything is running fine!

Thank you so much for your support!
    Cheers.

I have also contacted my hosting company and they have given me the following two lines to add to the .htaccess file which turns off the mod_security for that website. I have only used the second line and it has solved the problem of not being able to update pages.

Add these lines to the htaccess file. (I have used only line two)

    SecFilterEngine Off
    SecFilterScanPOST Off

    I hope this helps someone.
