• The site I have I want to 2 membership levels Free (0) and Paid (1)

If I locked down a test page where only membership level (1) can access content using a test free member (0) I get an error instead of my members option page I created per the tutorial videos.

I also by the way do not see a way to downgrade a member back to (0) when I edit a user

    Any ideas?

  • I’ve just noticed that nexcess comes with W3 Total Cache installed. If you have that activated, it can certainly cause problems unless you have it set up perfectly, because you can’t permit it to cache any protected content.

In fact, if all your site is protected apart from the login, registration, and MOP pages, then you should turn W3 off anyway.

I will disable them all and see what happens

This is the one I found that its not playing with right.

Interesting thing is I am not even using VC or VC extensions on this page.

Wait this is not repeating what I have tested. Not sure its that plugin yet. Let me start all over again.

Nope I went through and deactivated all the plugins and still have the 404. So its not the plugins. I must have made a mistake above.

    Is the W3 caching deactivated?

I do not have it on this site. The site I am using this for is LifeCoachPDC.com

When you turned off all the other plugins, did that include turning off the “coming soon” plugin that you’re using?

Yes I did that last. That is what I was kind of thinking it was going to be

Well, I know that checking the protections individually isn’t supposed to be quite the same as checking the ALL box, but you’d need to talk to the s2Member devs to find out whether the difference is significant. Otherwise, you’re still good to go.

Nevertheless, you might also want to talk to your host too because, if this is not caused by a theme or plugin, it is presumably something to do with the configuration they use. (Just to be clear, I’m not saying they’ve configured things badly, just that it might well be causing this issue.) They might also be able to provide some info that might help the s2Member devs work out how they might come up with a solution of their own.

I will look at this some more in detail a little later. Think I have a good workarond thanks to you for now. Thank you very much for your help…!

My pleasure! Good luck with the site!
