    Hi,

I have this issue, when I select to activate the plugin, it appears a 404 error. I tried to deactivate all the other plugins, re-install it (via WP repository and FTP) but still giving the 404.

    Can you please help me?

    Many thanks!

Hi, does this occur only with this plugin or all plugins? Do you see more information about the error or just 404 error message?

    Hi,

Only appears with this plugin. The rest they’re activating correctly.

And only appears the 404 error message.

That is very strange, I have tested this on different websites and it works for me. What type of server is your site hosted in?

    Thread Starter gandaramilla

    (@gandaramilla)

It’s a LiteSpeed Web Server with PHP 5.6 version (need another info?).

The URL that gives me when I press the activate button is the following:
    https://nvg-international.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?action=activate&plugin=all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall%2Fwp-security.php&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s&_wpnonce=16c27a8d7e

I installed this plugin in other domains at the same server hosting and it works great.

Thank you for sharing more information. If it works in one domain it should work in the other, if they are in the same server or hosting provider. So what is the difference between both domains or server settings?

    Thread Starter gandaramilla

    (@gandaramilla)

Yeah, it’s the same hosting provider with the same hosting plan, so it’s supposed to be the same characteristics at both domains.

Maybe changing any value of executing time of response? Cleaning cache of the server?

Hi, it is very strange that it works in one server but not the other. Do you know if both servers have the same set up? Speak to your host about this issue.

    Regards

    Hi, I’m back again.

Yep, both servers has the same set up.

Making a review of the files in the public_html folder I noticed a few files that correspond to any kind of malware. I deleted the files and made a fresh installation of WordPress, but the issue persists.

I think that maybe the AIOWPS plugin needs a specific value on a PHP file and the malware has changed it. It’s possible?

    What should I do?

    Many thanks.

Hi, if that is the case then you need to check your server for any corrupt files caused by the malware. It sounds like there is more involvement to your issue than we thought.

    Hi,

Finally I solved it. It was because a corrupted htaccess file.

By the way, many thanks for your help.

I am happy to know that you have found a solution to your problem.

    You are most welcome ??

    Enjoy the plugin.

    Hi,

I have created a new install of WordPress and done no changes to it. Downloading and installing the plugin All In One WP Security & Firewall – when activating the plugin I get a 404 error. I have no problem activating under plugins.
I am on a shared host. The htaccess is as per default.
I am really puzzled as I have used the plugin on other site in a shared hosting solution.

Should mention I currently run PHP 7.1.
Have tried to activate the plugin with other PHP version but the same issue ie 404 error when activating

This is the URL when activating wp-admin/plugins.php?_wpnonce=8b70e8ef16&action=activate&plugin=all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/wp-security.php

Any suggestions on where to start looking for the issue.
Could it be the hosting envirment? If that is the case what could be the issue?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thank you
    JH
