I have been using the Sugar & Spice theme for over a year with no problems but just started getting a 404 Error on 1/2 my Post (homepage) and all of my tabs.

I have attempted to fix this, but am limited in knowledge and can’t find help on wordpress support themes and don’t know how to contact the developer. I found the 404 error in the editor – but when I delete it – it doesn’t remove from my website ??

Any help out there??? I recently updated the theme and some plugins – so I’m not sure if that is what caused the problem. I really hope I don’t have to delete everything and start over :_(

Thanks in advance for ANY assistance!

Which file exactly did you find the 404 error in?

@crouchingbruin when I go to: Appearance: Editor – on the Right sidebar – there is a list of things – the first is 404 Template, then Archives, Comments, etc.

Does that help? I can take a picture if that’d help more

No, that file itself is not the problem. And you should not delete any theme files.

Try deactivating all of your plugins.

Thanks for the reply WPyogi – I accidentally posted this thread twice & looked at the other post and didn’t see the reply. I don’t think I can delete that one though.

If I de-activate my plugins – should I save the info first? or will I be able to get that back when I re-activate them?

You won’t lose anything by deactivating them.

Thank You SO VERY much! I just went through my list and deactivated/refreshed/reactivated each plug-in separately and found the problem.

I deactivated it and the problem went away. I reactivated it – and the 404 warning was back. I will delete it and maybe try another one.

    Thanks again ??

Awesome – glad to hear it was pretty easy to find and not one that’s too crucial :)!

Very much so! I tried searching for the plug-in and author too and both are no longer available and couldn’t be found. So I can’t even warn others who may have used that plug-in.
