I added a site secondarydomain.primary.com using the Network Admin Dashboard. I tried navigating to secondarydomain.primary.com and the wordpress site loads perfectly.
Next, I added the domain secondarydomain.org to the SiteID of secondarydomain.primary.com also using the Network Admin Dashboard.
Now when I navigate to secondarydomain.primary.com, the address bar changes to secondarydomain.org (which is correct) but the wordpress site does not load. I get a 404 page not found error instead.

Both my primary and secondary domains are hosted on the same server and has the same IP. My secondary domain is configured as “Parked”.

Is anyone able to give me a clue on what is wrong?

    I have resolved this issue.

What I had to do was simply go to my webhost control panel, and change my secondary domain from Parked to point to the directory of my main wordpress installation.

Ps. I am hosted at iPage

3 Cheers and a Big THANKS to “Rosanne”

I have at iPage too and have a few add on domains. Configuring a domain in to domain mapping gave me “403 Forbidden Error”. I stumbled on this post and as it is said, I went to the “Domain >Pointer” and chnaged it from the default home directory to the folder where the wordpress for the primary website is installed.

    Guess What?
    It worked for me too.

    Thanks once again.
