    I’d like to use Event Manager on our site ngfa.org, but when I download it, all of our current event pages ‘disappear’ and get a 404 error.

    I tried looking around the forums, and it appears that this may just be a setting that needs to be fixed — although I have gone to the permalinks and this only works if I don’t have events manager activated — once events manager is activated, I lose the pages and have to deactivate the plug in and reset the permalinks.

    At any rate, it seems like there should be a workaround, but I can’t figure it out.

  • Have you tried activating Events Manager, and then re-saving permalinks?

    I actually did — and the pages were still 404 error. So,

    * Uploaded the manager
    * Saw that the current pages were ‘gone’
    * Changed permalinks and resaved
    * Reloaded the event page – got the 404 error
    * Deactivated events manager
    * Resaved the permalinks
    * Reloaded the event page — it was back

    Just checked over your site and the events pages seem to be running ok. Are you still having problems?

    It’s running because I deactivated the events manager. We have an event next week that folks need to get to info — I couldn’t be down.

    Did you create the events pages separately / manually, without Events Manager?

    It looks like you have another events plugin installed. Are you trying to admin the events created with that plugin with Events Manager? That’s likely to cause problems.

    To check whether it’s Events Manager causing the problem, try disabling all other plugins before enabling Events Manager. Do you get the same errors then?

    Yes, created the page without Event Manager — were done first before we went for the Events manager.

    We do have another events plugin, but I did test, and it’s not causing the trouble.

    how about if you create brand new pages and assign those as new event pages? you can call them whatever you want to begin with, reassign them in EM settings, and test them out, just to see if it works.

    Then, you can rename the slugs etc. of these pages and make them children of the events page, hopefully it’ll still work.
