404 error after trying to change domain name

  • Hi there, I just set up my wordpress yesterday.(I’m still pretty new to this so please bear with me). After I had set up my account I tried to change my domain name. Ater doing so I can no longer log into my wordpress. All I get is a 404 error. Is their a way to delete this account and start fresh from the begining? Or is there a way to fix the mess I’ve made? Thanks for any info:-)

    Use this if, while in WordPress, you changed information about the URL.

    you cannot change your domain name. your domain is register under just that. if you want a different name – then you will need to register for another. so just change it back to its original name. if you have a ftp client software you can easily rename the file name. or enter your hosting account and change it there. support can help you there

    Uh? There is no “filename” to change? Nor could most hosts assist in this situation unless they know how to use WordPress.
