404 Error After Switching Hosts?

  • Hi, I have successfully transferred and moved my WordPress to another host. Thing is, some of my friends said they get a 404 error when they visit it. However, it is working fine for me, probably because I reset my IP.

    What is the problem? How do I make sure they are able to see it instead of the 404 error?

    Did you change your domain or your blog’s directory?

    If not, try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

    just updated to WordPress version 2.9.2 and now all I get is 404 error trying to access either my website or wp_admin page, any idea how to fix??? thanks
