404 after setting url

    New WP install. Go straight to install WPS Hide Login

    activate, settings, accept default value of login, save. Shows new URL at the top. GO there and get 404. No amount of fiddling with it seems to work. Try and logout, 404. Check wp_options whl_page correct as well as whl_redirect_admin. refreshing wp-admin/index.php still works. IF I clear my browser cache, im locked out. Ive spent hours trying different things. Apache2, PHP 7.4, WP 6.4.3 , not hosted.
