@wmodes We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue with your site. We aren’t sure why an update to the Yoast SEO plugin would return a 403 error for your wp-admin area of your site as the plugin doesn’t modify any security or permissions related settings for the admin URL.

Can you please first check with your hosting provider and have them review the server log to determine what the exact reason for the 403 is? As a 403 is a forbidden status from the server, it’s typically caused by either a permissions or security related setting and that a request was made to the server in a way that is not allowed. However, the server error log will cite a much more specific reason, such as a permissions issue on the wp-admin directory, or if the request for the URL is restricted due to IP, etc.
