I have faced an annoying 403 errors after updating one of my client website litespeed plugin.

After the latest update of litespeed, I realized that 403 error always happen.
At first, i do not any have idea why this happen and ask for help from my hosting service provider

After long investigation myself, I realized that the error is trigged by litespeed when the users using safari.

Here are the tests that I have go through.

    403 Error test

    1. Litespeed on, iOS device > trigger 403 error
    2. Litespeed on, Android device > normal, no 403 error
    3. Litespeed off, iOS device > normal, no 403 error
    4. Litespeed off, Android device > normal, no 403 error

    Once 403 error is triggered:
    - All the devices in the same network show 403 error, including IOS and Android devices
    - All the websites in the same hosting show 403 error, including all my other websites in the same host.
    - Need to wait about 10-15mins to become normal again.

Devices tested that trigger 403 error : (using safari)
    - iPad , Iphone 13, Iphone 7

Tested devices that do not trigger 403 error : (using chrome)
        - Imac, Android mobile phone

Now, I have deleted litespeed cache used another cache plugin, all the 403 errors gone.

For me, the problem is solved now, but I still create this post because there might be some other people having the same problem like me.

They can take this as a reference.

    Hi,

from the surface , I can not tell why 403

but the server log should always give the reason for why 403 , I would assume , most likely , due to mod_security

please kindly ask your hosting provider to check the server log

    Best regards,
