• Initially I tried installing php/mysql and apache seperately but I couldn’t get this to work so I used WebServ to install Apache 2.0.52, PHP 5.0.2 and MySQL 4.0.21 however different things are giving me 403 “Access Forbidden” errors.

I’ve tried the latest nightly build of WP and 1.22 stable however they both give this error whenever I try to put some any command surrounded by <>. However if I edit the database directly they post. It also happens with someother pages but not all.

Trying to browse databases with phpMyAdmin also gives the same 403 which makes me think this is some wierd problem with PHP/Apache. Re-installing all the applications hasn’t yielded any problems. There are no .htacess files anywhere.

I’m guessing this is somethink todo with me initially installing stuff manually before using Webserv however I uninstalled everything. Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah, that sounds like a BIG problem with your PHP/Apache/MySQL setup. Keep in mind that WP v1.2.2 is also not entirely compatible with PHP 5, nor is it supported with PHP 5. We do our best, but can’t guarantee anything. But, basically your PHP/Apache/MySQL setup is really messed up. I’d recommend asking at the various PHP boards.

I’ve tried the latest WP 1.5 so its not a PHP5 compatibility problem. I suspect the problem is that my original PHP install has sent some files to the windows directory or registry (though I didn’t think it kept anything there) and they haven’t been removed which is causing a conflict with the new install.

Anyone know a good place to look for help?
