    Hi, since I am using this plugin to fight spam I get “400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large” errors & Login issues (hit login and nothing happens).

    My webhosting said : “Based on our investigation, it looks like the issue is caused by a plugin setting heaps of header cookies. This caused the 400 bad gateway.”

    They showed me a screenshot with a huge list of “apbct_visible_fields” which is created by this plugin.

    Please advice?

    Hello @marbs

    We replied to your ticket in our support system:
    https://cleantalk.org/my/support

    Let’s continue our conversation there.

    Thank you!

    I am having this problem as well. I was able to solve it for now, by turning on the “Use alternative mechanism for cookies” in the advanced settings.

    My questions are:

    Is this a Cleantalk bug that I can expect to be fixed in an upcoming release?

    If not, is there any disadvantage to leaving the setting for “alternative mechanism” turned on, long term?

    Thanks.

    Hello, @littleen.

    We plan to improve the anti-spam plugin and this issue will be resolved on the next work week.

    Please, wait.

    @littleen,

    If not, is there any disadvantage to leaving the setting for “alternative mechanism” turned on, long term?

    No, there are no disadvantages. The plugin uses another mechanism to keep the user’s necessary data.

    @marbs,

    As a temporary solution, please, set the advanced option “Set cookies” (Data processing part) to the position “Use alternative mechanism for cookies”. It should help.

    However, we are on our way to a stable solution.

    Thank you for waiting, @marbs, @littleen.
    We have fixed the issue. Please, set the option “”””Set cookies”””” to “”””On”””” again:
    ? WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Anti-Spam by CleanTalk —> Advanced settings —> set the option “”””Set cookies”””” to “”””On”””” —> Save Changes.
    Is everything okay now?
    Kind regards.

    @marbs is the issue solved now?

    (@marbs)

    @alexandergull I though we continued on cleantalk.org and you gave me the impression it was already solved until 2 hours ago.

    My little advice, your service is great and I appreciate it but it’s better that one person deals with one ticket. 3 people helped me out and I get different messages as explained in the first paragraph.

    Hello, @marbs.

    Yes, we are working on fixing the issue on each possible side of the CleanTalk service.
    Sometimes the changes we apply don’t help everyone at once, that’s why we ask for confirmation.

    Thank you for understanding.

    The problem returned after the update. Either fix this or refund me. Because this is very damaging on a live site
