I have 4 buttons on my static landing page. Each is a widget and is placed in my themes “footer feature” area. (The theme is Flexsqueeze 2).
These 4 buttons are set by dynamic widgets to only show on the landing page.
On the other pages there are 4 other widgets viz: categories, tags, pages, popular posts.

The widgets all display on the correct pages as setup by dynamic widgets. I am pretty certain I have set up the filters correctly.

The widget area in the “footer feature” area seems to have reverted to 8 widget areas. On the landing page all the buttons are right aligned, but with room for 4 more. Similarly on the other pages with the other widget set.

This may be an issue of the theme and dynamic widgets to co-existing but would like to keep dynamic widgets if possible.

Your comments? The landing page can be seen in the link and check another pages also as comparison.

DW does not change positions or whatsoever of widgets. It only shows and hides widgets based on the rules you’ve set and does it’s magic completely in the background without interfering with the theme. It gets it’s arguments to know which rules to follow from the WordPress Template Engine. However, the template (theme) can interfere here sometimes by changing values along the way. Most of the times the solution is then to set DW into OLD mode.

An incompatibility can occur when a widget area becomes empty due to the set rules. This might break the theme when it expects at least something in the area.

Thanks very much for your response and I will try the OLD mode. In the meantime, I will see if other widget managers act the same. However I agree that this must be a theme issue and have spoken to the theme author.
