4 websites with WPML were down from Nov. 2nd, because WordPress 6.1 had a major release/change without warning. WPML fixed quickly what it needed to update.

In the meantime all 4 websites were down, without Jetpack sending me a warning.

So, their claim “Monitor your site uptime / downtime and get an instant alert of any change by email”, is misleading … yes it was not down, but it was totally unresponsive “There has been a critical error on this website” was the only text on the homepage.

    Hi @ivarb ,

We’re sorry to hear you were having issues with your site.

Jetpack Monitor pings your site’s homepage every five minutes and checks its return code to determine if it’s up. You can find more details about this here:
    https://jetpack.com/support/monitor/#process

In this case, we suspect that the fatal error only occurred in specific parts of your site and not on the homepage. Therefore, the error code was not returned when we ping the homepage, and Jetpack Monitor did not find any errors.

If you would like us to dig deeper into your site specifically on why Jetpack Monitor did not send an alert, please reach us at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/.

All was down, including the homepage. Better, don’t make claims you cannot live up to. I’m removing Jetpack on the sites, I don’t need unnecessary plugins ??
