I’m trying to solve it. I already tried other larger Facebook feed plugins to see if they already found a solution but sadly they seem to have the same problem because Facebook is changing the api. The only solution I have seen is to let people generate their own access token but that only works when you are the admin of the facebook page which is probably for many people not the case. It would also make this plugin a lot less easy to use.

I’ll continue to search for a solution.

    Thanks for your help… ??

@timwass adding your own token doesn’t require to be the admin of the fb page (that’s why it worked before).

On my FB dev account I created an app, got the token and put it instead of the selection in the plugin and it works.

I think allowing users to put their own token via a setting or a hook could fix the issue for those who can do it, and will reduce the load on the tokens you include in the plugin. I just isn’t practical, because it’s quite complicated to get this token…

I agree people should have to option to add their own token. It’s already on my todo list for tonight after work, I guess it’s the best solution for now.

Can you explain how you do this? Will it work for multiple facebook feeds?

@timwass I’m not sure what’s happening with Facebook, but the token I used 2 hours ago has also reached its limit. And I doubt there has been many requests on the site I used it on.

I have added an option to add your own access token in version 3.0.20. Hopefully it will help some people.

The easiest way to generate one is to use the tool from our neighbors from custom facebook feed: https://smashballoon.com/custom-facebook-feed/access-token.

This won’t work – From Smash Balloon site: Known issue: Error: (#200): Due to some sudden Facebook changes Access Tokens from new Facebook apps are temporarily unable to access the Facebook API. You can still use our plugin by obtaining a Page Access Token, or leaving the “Facebook Access Token” field blank.

Page Access token is specific to that plugin and, you can’t leave the field blank in EFF.

Can confirm that adding your own Access Token solves the problem.

    Thanks for quickfix, @timwass.

    I get the following error:

(#10) To use ‘Page Public Content Access’, your use of this endpoint must be reviewed and approved by Facebook. To submit this ‘Page Public Content Access’ feature for review please read our documentation on reviewable features: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review.

I’ve followed the instructions – and cannot get it to work/figure out what I need to do.

Can confirm that adding your own Access Token solves the problem.

I can’t get this to work at all. I am prompted to get my ‘app’ reviewed – and it requires me to submit video instructions on how users will interact with my ‘app’ and add code to each page etc. etc.

I just followed the instructions on the smash balloon site as recommended…Please help.

I can’t see any way this can work with multiple feeds (different facebook pages), as we have. I would need to insert more than one token. This is a big problem for us.
Please can you provide specific help for my situation? Otherwise I will have no choice but to uninstall and seek a refund as the plugin no longer has the features I paid for.
    Thanks in advance.
