    Hi there,

I noticed on the new version 4.8 of WordPress that you changed the text widgets to behave more like the regular Edit Page screen with the tabs for Visual and Text, the problem is that they default open on Visual and that seems to strip away some of the HTML code, namely I had some simple mouseover code for images that change when the cursor hovers, if I save the code and don’t reopen the widget, the code stays intact. If I go back and try to open the widget to update it, I noticed that the HTML for img src was there but that the mouseover script as missing.

Could you please either just offer a pure text widget that accepts HTML as a default widget option in WordPress, or fix this code-altering problem? This is something that the regular Edit Page Visual tab does all the time that’s been a problem for a while now, to the point of me sometimes having to install a plugin to force the tab to not alter my HTML when I have to switch to Visual (easier to edit a gallery with Visual, etC). At least with the regular Edit Page, if I use the Text tab on one page, the next page I go to edit will open on the Text tab. But the text widget seems to always open on Visual first.

    Thanks for your time!
