• I was one of the many people who had an issue with the 4.8 upgrade and the white screen of death. Once the update was released I gave that a try – it installed fine, and things seemed good, but I quickly saw that the new sitemaps were completely broken for me, and the plugin did not want to “change” options at all – as in, I could not toggle any options without a “plugin not installed” error, (or some similar phrasing, forgive me my memory is a little bad on that exact phrase), basically making the plugin less useful than it should be, especially when combined with the sitemap issue which as we all know can severely affect search engine interaction with your site.

I would note that my site is running php 5.4.45, which makes it seem odd I have been experiencing any errors with the original release or this fixed version – from what I am reading of your notes the plugin *should* run fine on my setup.

I will stick with 4.7.1 of the Jetpack plugin, testing out newer releases hoping that these problems get fixed.
