4.8.1 Editor role can only see own content in Media Library

    After my site was upgraded to 4.8.1 last night people with the Editor role can only see pictures in the media library that they have uploaded. If they have never uploaded anything to the library they see nothing.

    If I promote them to Administrator they see all content, but if I set them back to Editor they only see content that they have loaded.

    Please help!

  • I had the same problem after updating to 4.8.1.
    I believe, that it has something to do with the plugin NextGen gallery. I tried to deactivate the Resize NextGen Gallery-plugin, and then it worked OK. Two days later, there was an upgrade of NextGen Gallery, and I Thought jubee! My problem is solved. But no! Now the deactivation of the resize plugin had no effet at all. So now I can not use my media library!
    What do I do?

    There may be hope yet…
    I selectively deactivated all the plugins connected with posts or images. After deactivating one called “User Submitted Posts” which is a simple front end post editor. I got visibility back of the Media Library for Editors. I then started activating them all one at a time and testing. It all works fine now. I then reactivated the “User Submitted Posts” as a final test fully expecting the problem to return – it didn’t. So, the problem has gone away and I have all my plugins reactivated. I don’t understand, but I’m not complaining ??
