• I’m allowing users to register on my journal so they don’t have to constantly put in their information to comment.

However, I want the user registration to be held for my approval – is this possible? I don’t seem to be able to find an option to do this.

Yes, nothing in there about authorizing a registration. That just explains what each user level is allowed to do. I could have sworn sometime last year when I tried this there was an option to authorize all new registrants. Maybe I’m getting it mixed up with comment authorization.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I’m interested in this too. I have it set so that you have to register to post comments but I want to approve registered users. Right now people have to email me and I have to create the user info and mail it to them.
Something that allowed them to register but held them over for approval would be great.

try logging in as admin, go to options, the discussions tab. There you can set options for allowing people to log in but hold all posts for your approval until you escalate their status. Works for our site.

I should have included the General Options tab under Options has some check boxes for “Anyone can register” and “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” which sets the requirement for you to authorize or not authorize new users and how they can post.
