3.9.1 upgrade/header & background disappeared

  • My site was automatically given the upgrade to WP 3.9.1 a couple of days ago. Today, my header and blog background disappeared. I was able to reinstall both of them, but could this be due to some glitch in the upgrade? I’ve never had that happen before.

  • Not much to go on, but do you have a page cache plugin? If the plugin is trying to show an old page on a site which now has different files it could screw up the page. If so, just delete the cache after an upgrade.

    No I don’t use a caching plugin.

    When I realized they were missing, I went to Header and Background and the settings had changed. The header I use wasn’t checked and the background tile that I use was missing.

    It’s interesting that this happened within a day of the upgrade to 3.9.1
