Do you have any idea why AMP pages that were fine before are now having Critical Issues?

I tested some of the pages and they do not pass the test.

When I ran GTMetrix on May 29 it said no GZIP was working, so I called InMotion Hosting. The tech I got was not very helpful, so say the least, and to “fix” the problem he renamed my current htaccess file to a very old one. Then, the next day I got the Critical Errors. So I called tech support today and had them undo what he did, only there were 3 htaccess files and I’m not sure the one that got made current is the best of the three…

I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see if the AMP errors go away.

    Hey @considerthis1,

What issues you are facing in AMP and where? Can you share the URLs?

It’s all my pages. They are being invalidated by Google. It’s because an InMotion Hosting tech put an old htaccess file into use instead of adding GZip to my file what worked with AMP. Sigh.

I think the errors will begin to go way tonight with the correct htaccess file being reinstated.

    Thank you ??

    Hi Marqas,

Sadly, it doesn’t appear to have worked. I tested one of the pages. It came back “Not a Valid AMP page.”

I don’t know what could be causing this…

Please will you have a look when you get a chance?

    Hi Marqas,
Removing that plugin didn’t help. There are even more invalid pages today…

Please will you look into this for me?

If you browse directly to one of the AMP pages what do you get? I had a similar problem when mysteriously AMP pages got redirected to their canonical version.

If that’s your issue, after hours of attempts I fixed it by disabling the AMP plugins and Yoast SEO, then re-enabling the AMP plugins first and finally Yoast SEO.

    Hi CW,
You know, that could be it. My hosting techs did some things to my site, but I don’t know exactly what. After that my AMP pages had Critical Errors. I tried everything I could think of. I thought about disabling my AMP plugins, but I was afraid that would weird out my pages even more. I don’t use Yoast. When I looked at it a long time ago there hadn’t been any updates for years… LOL. So I went with All in One SEO, which is very good.

Thank you for your insight. I appreciate it. ??
