3.7 Reinstall and "Add Media"

    I have reinstalled to realease 3.7 yesterday and tried to create a new Post.

    When I add images, the “Caption” doesn’t work as before, but the biggest problem is that I’m getting the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_convert_encoding()in /home/thepath.php on line 67.

    I am not positive it has to do with the version upgrade, because it has been a few weeks since I published my last Post, but it happened yesterday with the new Post just after the upgrade.

  • Have you tried disabling all themes and plugins and just using a default WordPress theme (like twentytwelve or twentythirteen)?

    Does posting work then?

    If so then re-enable the theme you used previously (keeping all plugins disabled for now) – does posting work? If not, the problem is with your theme. If posting works correctly, now we can start looking at your plugins.

    Slowly enable plugins one-by-one, testing if posting works correctly between each plugin being enabled. If posting fails at any point, identify which was the last plugin you enabled and contact the plugin developers and let them know what you’ve found. It’s also helpful to provide them with what server environment you’re running on, which version of WordPress and which themes and plugins you’re using.

    You got it Bemdesign Member! Really great!

    I changed theme to twentytwelve, and deactivated all plugins. Changed back to my old theme, and it works.

    Now I will go back and activate each plugin I need, and see which one fails, if so.
