3.6.5 completely breaks WP-LOGIN

Yea the admin redirect is completely broken now.

Insert sad face ??

I just upgraded two sites, based on different themes and using mostly different plugins, to 3.6.5. I did have an issue updating on one site but wp-login.php seems to work OK on both sites running 3.6.5.

I am having the same issue as diggisaur, I had disable the plugin.

After about 30 minutes the redirected login started working again. No idea why. So I am good again. Very odd.

Mine is working now as well!

Mine isn’t. The login links point to a page something like this:

https://site-host-here/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fsite-host-here%2F

…which then re-directs to:

https://site-host-here/not_found?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fsite-host-here%2F

rather than the appropriate wp-login page.

I can login using the appropriate wp-login link, thanks to having a record of the “secret” key…

(Oh, and I’ve tried again several times, way past the 30 minutes or so mentioned above.)

I think I’m in the same boat. I have hidden login setup for quite some time and after the most recent upgrade, I can’t login to my site anymore. It just sends me to 404 when I use the login link. Even if I rename my .htaccess, it still doesn’t work. I don’t know how to fix this but both of my sites are crippled. How do I fix it? Thanks.

I had to disable the plugin through FTP and it doesn’t work for me anymore.

I can’t login to my admin account. How do you disable the plugin via FTP?

redspark, FTP into your server, go to wp-content > plugins and rename Better WP Security to something like Better WP Security1 and it should let you in.

Thanks. I had to change the htaccess file too to remove all of the url rewrites. Other than that, it worked perfectly. I hope this gets fixed. That plugin was really useful.

The plugin changes my login page to /login. Which I can set in one of the menus. As long as I go in through there it works.
It redirects to /wp-login.php?somekey
and then I can login as usual.

So this works for me.
But when I use the ‘custom-meta-widget’ plugin to get control over that – it wil not redirect properly and I get a 404 (also courtesy of better_wp_security).

Any ideas how to get the custom-meta-widget plugin to play nice with the new login location. It calls wp_loginout( NULL, false ) and so my expectation is that that will still work ?
