• I’m having trouble with the add media system too… but mostly with linking. When I add an image that has a custom link, and then add text below it with a link, WP strips the link from the text below and adds an extra space instead. It is not user-friendly at all to have to switch from visual to text back and forth for each post.

  • Can you take me thru step by step what you are doing?

    Doing this in visual mode;
    add media, the i choose the photo, attachment details open, scroll to attachment display settings, choose custom url and enter data, insert into post. I add text below, click on the link button, create the link.

    When I check in the text mode everything is correct.

    yes, except for: “when I check in the text mode everything is correct”.

    When I check in the text mode, the link has been placed above the text but not linking to the text. So, when I save it and check again, the link disappears and has been replaced with ” “.

    If I go into text mode and place the link inside the header tags, it’s ok. But, it’s not easy for me to do the entire post in text mode so I have to go back and forth, which is time consuming.

    -&-n-b-s-p-;- is what should have been inside the quotes (ignoring the dashes).
